Table 127, British Railways Scottish Region Timetable commencing 27th September, 1948, covering services from Forfar to Brechin and return.

Ex-CR Class 2P 0-4-4T No. 55198 awaits departure from Brechin with the 2.5pm train to Forfar via Careston on 12th July, 1952. This line, which served a few scattered rural communities, closed to passengers a few weeks later. The fifteen-mile journey took twenty-five minutes. [J.L. Stevenson]
